The HS-D-E series broadband pairgain system is a latest generation digital pairgain system. Based on G.SHDSL.bis technology, it can transfer both POTS telephone and broadband data (Ethernet) on one twisted pair wire. It is a popular equipment chioce for voice and data integrated access. Typical applications are SOHO and retails shops, payphone clusters with addon WIFI gateway etc.
The HS-D-E system comprises four main modules. They are the exchange unit (EU), remote unit (RU), Operations & Maintenance Interface (OMI) and the subrack. The EU is mounted in the subrack which is installed in the central office location. The subrack can accomodate up to 12 EUs. One EU connects to an RU by a single twisted pair. This system can then access 16 voice subscribers and 1 Ethernet port that can supply a pc, router/switch Wifi modem etc. The RU can be installed near the subscribers either in an internal or external (pit/pole) point some distance from the central office. The pole mount RU has a built-in termination block, so a cable distribution box is unnecessary.
The whole system is simple, highly reliable, easy to install and re-deployable. It is a good solution for low cost, scarce line resource, rapid, reliable access service for small and medium capacity voice and broadband subscribers. It is especially suited for access of flats, factory, mines, railways, university, school, temporary building, telephone booth, small internet bar and legacy building network infrastructure update.
